Hydrocele Surgery

Hydrocelectomy is surgery to remove a hydrocele. A hydrocele is a fluid-filled sac inside the scrotum. A hydrocele can happen on one or both sides of the scrotum. The doctor made a very small cut  in your scrotum to drain the fluid from the hydrocele and to remove the fluid-filled sac.

What is the main cause of hydrocele?

A hydrocele can form due to an injury. Or it can form because of a type of swelling, called inflammation, within the scrotum. Inflammation might be caused by an infection in the testicle or in the small, coiled tube at the back of each testicle.
